Workplace Transport Safety
Every year, about 50 people are killed and more than 5000 people are injured in accidents involving workplace transport. The most common causes are people falling from or being struck by a vehicle, objects falling from a vehicle, or vehicles overturning. This two-day webinar course provides advice on the employer’s general legal duties, and information on health and safety management.

Who Should Attend?
Employers must be aware of the risks involving workplace transport and implement the correct control measures. The course provides comprehensive advice for employers on what they need to do to comply with the law and reduce risk. It is useful for managers, supervisors, employees and their safety representatives, self-employed, contractors, vehicle operators
and other organisations concerned with workplace transport safety.
Course content
Vehicles at Work: This course comprises a general introduction to Health and Safety requirements and responsibilities, and guidance grouped into three key areas.
Safe Site - design: covering the layout of the workplace, for example traffic routes and their maintenance, the positioning and design of pedestrian crossing points, lighting and signage.
Safe Site - activity: covering activities on a site such as reversing operations, coupling and uncoupling, loading and unloading, tipping and sheeting.
Safe Site - vehicle: covering the selection and maintenance of appropriate vehicles for task, user and environment.
Safe Site - driver: covers the competence and behaviour of those who operate vehicles
