Who Should Attend?

Vehicle maintenance staff responsible for preventative maintenance safety inspections (PMI) or annual test preparation of PSVs.

Course content

  • Knowledge assessment
  • Operator licensing review
  • Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) enforcement including prohibition system and OCRS update; Traffic Commissioners
  • PG9 System - documentation associated with enforcement.
  • Braking systems exercise includes rolling road brake testing (optional) if equipment available.
  • Inspection procedure - practical demonstration and technique. This is fundamental for those requiring irtec accreditation.
  • Maintenance role and responsibilities in accordance with the DVSA Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness.
  • DVSA Inspection Manual review including critical wear tolerances and standards.
  • Vehicle Inspection procedure theory and practical demonstration.
