irtec Licence Qualification

The irtec Licence is a nationally recognised accreditation scheme achieved by completion of both online and practical assessment.

Achieving an irtec licence demonstrates to any road transport industry employer that the vehicle technician has achieved the required standard to undertake vehicle inspections.

To gain an irtec licence, technicians will complete an online assessment. On successful completion, this is followed by a practical skills assessment of individual inspection technique.

Once accredited, irtec technicians agree to abide by the irtec code of conduct, receive a licence card, certificate (valid for 5 years) and are placed on the irtec Technicians Directory.
