Who Should Attend?
This course is suitable for anyone involved in the carriage, handling, preparation or administration of dangerous goods by road, where their role does not require a full ADR Driver Training Certificate. 
This may include: 
- Warehouse and yard staff .
- Packers, loaders and unloaders .
- Shipping and receiving clerks .
- Transport planners and coordinators .
- Drivers carrying dangerous goods below load limit thresholds or limited quantities. 
- Office, customer service and administration staff involved in dangerous goods movements.
- Supervisors, managers and compliance teams responsible for overseeing dangerous goods activities. 
The course is not intended to replace full ADR vocational driver training where this is required. 
Course content
The course provides an awareness-level overview of the key areas employees need to understand when involved in the carriage of dangerous goods by road. 
Topics include: 
- Introduction to ADR and dangerous goods legislation. 
- What dangerous goods are and how they may be identified. 
- The nine classes of dangerous goods.
- Basic principles of classification, UN numbers, markings and labels. 
- Roles and responsibilities within the dangerous goods transport chain. 
- Safe handling, loading, unloading and storage considerations. 
- Transport documentation and package information.
- Limited quantities and small load limit threshold awareness.
- Basic emergency response actions, including spills, leaks, fire or exposure.
- Security awareness and the importance of controlling access to dangerous goods. 
- Training requirements, including general awareness, function-specific and safety training. 
- When further advice, training or specialist support may be required.
Duration : Up to half a day.
